The season of boredom comes to a close

Poor Molly has felt bored these last few months. Despite regular trips to play with my parents and methodically destroying some fluffy toys, she has been bored. No squirrels to chase, and those mean parents of hers won't let her eat all the snow she can (because let's face it, a dog just plain needs to eat so much snow that she ends up shivering and trying to purge it). But...

The boredom has ended! She's getting longer walks, and the critters are starting to come out to be chased!

I'll try to get a video sometime soon of how excited she gets when I come home. For now, here she is, sitting pretty for the camera this morning.

Phew!

September and October was an adventure for the family. We have a house now! But with that came the dastardly villain....change. Poor Molly was extremely stressed as we moved. We also had to re-potty train the silly girl because she was too accustomed to going at the park. Thankfully, the dust has settled and we are moved in. Now she loves having her very own pond (it comes complete with ducks to chase).

Breakthrough!

Earlier today, I had emailed Denise and Chan about Molly having no real updates lately. And then tonight...a new trick sunk in! We've been trying to get her to shake/paw for weeks now and you could tell it just wasn't clicking. Then tonight, fate or whimsy or just a good day for Molly, she started doing it on command. When we profusely praised her the first time, she gave us a startled expression of, "What did I do?!" A few yummy nibbles of chicken later and she had it down. We went through her other tricks and back to the new one again and she was ready for us. Makes us really proud to teach her something new and now we have to decide what's next.

Foodcapades: Rescue Doggy's Dishes

Being a rescue doggy is hard! Molly has definitely had some scary things in her past, and you're never quite sure when they'll show themselves. Well, we found an interesting (but mild) one.
